Another Major Bushie Blunder

Bushie proudly turned his back on American policy and world treaties on nuclear non-proliferation with his "deal" with India. There is no deal because Congress has to approve it, as do the 40+ countries that ship nuclear material, but the effect of Bushie's unilateral announcement is to tell the world that there is no need for any country to follow any standards for nuclear non-proliferation.

Don't get me wrong, I believe India is a growing force that the U.S. will have to take seriously. Along with China, I expect that India will become the dominant economic forces in the world. Certainly it will be the major source of technological and bio-medical innovation - even over the U.S. - very soon. But this deal - along with Bushie's approval of military sales to India (including F-16s) will basically set the stage for an arms race between India, Pakistan, and China. It will destabilize the world and make it more dangerous, particularly for the U.S.

Why do it? Because Bushie wants to help out his defense contractor friends - the corporate president strikes another blow at national defense in favor of the almighty dollar.

Day 1635!
