War on Terror

Joint Chiefs Chair, General Peter Pace said yesterday the War on Terror will go on after Afghanistan and Iraq are stabilized.

Here is the bottom line - the War on Terror will never end. Terror is not an enemy, it is a tactic. There will always be terrorism in the world. Labeling it a "war" and whipping people up into a frenzy allows the government to further intrude on the civil rights of Americans, and build up a military industrial machine. However, in the end, that won't do much to end terror around the world.

The War on Terror is very similar to the War on Drugs. We have been fighting a War on Drugs for decades and there is no end to that war because "Drugs" (just as "Terror") is not an enemy that can be defeated on a battlefield.
