Marc Trestman to Coach Bears

The Bears named Marc Trestman their next head coach. I don't know much about him, but looking over his past experience and all of the QBs he has developed I think it is a good pick. I hope that the Bears are able to keep most of their defensive staff together. Much of that will probably depend on if Lovie gets a head coaching job (which is looking less likely).

Don't know much about him either other than, as you mentioned, he is apparently a guy that has worked with and developed a number of QBs. The question is will Jeff George II be receptive and listen to the guy. I suppose we'll find out.

Interesting as the guy has been around for a long time with a number of teams and people thought he should have had a head coaching opportunity before but he never did. Makes you wonder if he is better suited as a coordinator and doesn't have what it takes to be a head coach or if he is just a diamond in the rough. Understand that he was a head coach for the Alouettes but this is the NFL.

I think it is as good a decision as anyone else. The guy seems bright. No coach can solve everything by himself. I'm sure he will give it his best. We'll see what he can do.

It will work out if we can keep our defense and the defensive coaches there.

Trestman won two Grey Cups, and apparently took a big part in player personnel in Canada. That is not enough by itself, but he has been a very successful offensive coordinator. We'll see, but the more I hear about him the more I like him.

Jeff George II will get tired of him. J. George II will tell reporters in training camp that he's all in and he likes Trestman and what he has to offer but after a disappointing start, George II will suck in a game and Trestman will try and talk to him on the sideline and Jeff George II will brush Trestman aside and tell him that he knows better and this isn't the CFL and for Trestman to go back to Montreal. Have fun dealing with that Trestman!
